Black Screen! HELP!

Hi everyone, I am new to all of this so I have no idea what to do.
I built my first PC watching instructional videos on youtube prior to and during construction. I asked one of my friends to take a look at it (he has built a few PCs on his own) and he said everything looked good, and made sure everything was connected properly.
As I finally powered on and went to boot, I have RAM lights on and my CPU light on, and a black screen. I am plugged into my monitor using HDMI and I have used the monitor with my old PC. On startup, all of the fans start spinning that I have plugged in, but I get absolutely nothing on the screen and these error lights. I have no idea what I am doing wrong.

The build is:
MSI X470 Gaming Plus
Ryzen 7 1700
Radeon RX580 ARMOR GPU
2x G.SKILL RIPJAW DDR4 4GB RAM

What slots did you use for your ram? Try the red slots (B, D). Otherwise try the black slots (A, C) and see if you get a post. If still no post try to boot with a single ram in different combinations of slots/ ram module.

Is the HDMI cable plugged in to your motherboard or your GPU? Because you need to plug it to your GPU, not your motherboard (unless your CPU has integrated graphics, which yours does not).
