So, what happened was I turned my PC on as normal, it was fine for about 10 minutes then suddenly it blue screened (Nothing specific on the message, just said to check hardware as it usually does) and this was the second time my PC has bluescreened. I've had it just over a year.
So, turned it off and then back on, and then it wouldn't display the login screen, just a black screen with a movable cursor.
Turned it off then back on. I tried a startup repair, but had to cancel it because it was taking hours and it wasn't getting anywhere. Turned PC off and on again, this time it was 'replacing invalid ID' or something like that, when that finished it turned itself off, back on again but the same thing with the black screen with a cursor happened. I left it for a bit, came back and the screen had gone very pixely, like blue green and red dots (yet they didn't seem to have any effect on the appearance of the cursor, only the black screen)
Same black screen and cursor happens if I try in safe mode or any other alternative login options.
My question is, what is wrong with it? I've been told it's GPU, a virus and that it's a corrupt OS! I have no clue which it is.
A virus I'm not sure about, as I haven't downloaded anything recently, but have had that thing that happens where a new tab pops up for no reason without clicking an ad (usually some dodgy gambling thing)
I'm not sure about GPU, I think it is possible since I've had bad graphics errors when trying to watch videos on my PC (not just on browsers and youtube, videos played from files too) where the screen goes black and distorted. But I thought that may have just been a normal thing that happens since I get it on my laptop sometimes, too. But then again, if it was the GPU, wouldn't the whole start up process be affected? Like maybe distorted images when it's loading windows and such.
I have no clue to tell if the OS is corrupt or not.
Any suggestions on what to do? I don't have any spare GPUs to test, the OS (windows 7, obviously) was already on my PC when I bought its, so I have no disk. And I have no clue how to get rid of a virus, if there is one, when I can't access safe mode or anything.
