[SOLVED] Black screen of death after BIOS update

Didn't have any experience with this but I thought I'd update by BIOS after installing some new RAM on my ASUS Prime B350M-A motherboard. The update completed seemingly normally and the system said it would restart but then immediately failed to POST and I've just got a blackscreen; it's detecting no video input. I've tried:
  • Powering off completely
  • Taking out the CMOS battery
  • Shorting the CMOS jumpers
  • Changing input from GPU to integrated graphics
  • Praying intensely
Don't think the mobo is bricked because CPU and GPU fans still run as well as my RGB.
Any help would be a godsend.

As the memory controller is on the CPU, another fault could be bent female pins on the CPU socket, even if they are straight on the CPU. Very unlikely to be the DIMM socket itself. Though wouldn't even attempt to repair it without at least a USB microscope and really fine precision tools.

Another cause of no video after a BIOS update/reset is the motherboard may default to CSM but some GPU's may not play nicely unless set to UEFI. I keep a cheap OEM card handy for this purpose to run the BIOS config before I can use my main GPU.
