black screen on login with cursor

The title says all. I recently updated windows and restarted to this . I have searched and tried numerous things. Still no go. I cannot in safe mode as it still shows black screen. I tried to login doing what I would normally do. I.e. press a key then password. But still no go. I tried Ctrl salt del and still black.i tried system restore before update. I tried to let windows diagnose it and it could not. Sometimes I boot and it says windows had a problem starting etc. Let it go through that function and Still nothing. I tried a few more things after searching the web and this forum.. still nothing. I do have windows 7 ui with alienware theme and I'm thinking this might of played a part in this . Not sure. If anybody could help I would appreciate it. I have a Toshiba satelite laptop. Not sure how much I have to write as it is still telling me I have to provide more details but this is all of the details at this time if you have any more questions just ask. Thank you .

Still no luck . Everything I have looked up . I try and still no go. Is there anybody willing to help before I try to refresh or reinstall .

I'm not quite sure what you are describing. Do you have a photo of the screen? Is this black screen from within Windows or does it happen before Windows boots? How are you letting Windows diagnose it if you can't get into Windows? How are you trying to login if there is no login screen? You need more specifics and less generalizations.

i have a solution to this, what you need to do is restart your Windows 8 computer that is having this issue and spam F8 to get to advanced system start options/recovery and restore / refresh to BEFORE the issue a=occured and reinstall your Graphics driver
