Question Black Screen Playing Sims 4

Hello,
I have issues when playing Sims 4, my pc keeps showing black screen the gameplay is laggy. My pc hadn’t been used for years because of broken HDD. I replaced it with SSD then the GPU had artifacts.
I just replaced my old GPU (R7 250x) with RX 460 OC by sapphire.
The rest of my spec:
Core 2 Duo E7400
3GB of RAM
470w PSU
240 GB SSD

Well, I could play Sims 4 alright back then. I wonder what’s wrong with it? Is it because of the GPU or lack of power from my old PSU?

I had the same thought. But if my psu was the culprit would my pc shutdown instead of black screen for 1-2 secs?

the GPU is the most power hungry device in a PC not enough power black screen but could be anything its a dinosaur of a PC but that would be my recommendation.

I see, I tried to use my old R7 250x back and the black screen was back once and after a long time of game I got an bluescreen.
Went to a repair shop to check what really is wrong with the pc, they said my processor + mobo is too old to handle the GPU and recommend me to upgrade.

Welp, maybe I’ll save up to upgrade them all then :’
