Hey fellas, i recently swapped my rig's mobo and cpu. Upgraded to an Asus Z97-P and an i7 4790. The computer worked beautifully for a week and some. But today a white underscore (not a blinking one) on a black screen has started appearing BEFORE the bios pops up.

Now, resetting the CMOS or taking the RAM sticks out and inserting them again appears to make the BIOS pop up again, without a problem. From there i can manually boot my SSD without a problem. BUT if i save+restart (so that the pc automatically boots the SSD) the blackscreen+underscore appear again.

I'm starting to run out of options. Any ideas?

EDIT: Apparently starting up the computer without any USB devices plugged in allow the computer to boot up normally. I count this as a temporary solution, but i still want to get to the bottom of the issue. (i can't stand buying new equipment and it not working flawlessly :p)

All those connected directly to the Mobo:
Keyboard, Mouse (Mice, actually), Webcam and Microphone. I've tried disconnecting only some, but apparently unless they're ALL disconnected it won't work.

I have the same problem. But I've found something that works. If I click restart I just get the black screen and white dash.

So I switch the PC off at the mains for about 10 seconds. Until I hear a little ping like a switch turning itself off inside the case. Turn back on at the mains, press the on switch on the PC and everything is fine again. It boots up normally.

What is that click and why doesn't it happen automatically? Anyone know?
