Hey so I just installed a new Nividia graphics card on my Dell Inspirion and it worked perfectly fine until I installed the drivers for the graphics card, when they told me to restart so I did and after doing it, when it came back all I got was a black screen with my mouse appearing on my screen. I have tried to press shift + F8 but it's not working

I had this problem EARLIER TODAY with a crappy graphics card I was testing out. It's an issue with the Graphics Driver and the version of windows it's trying to install to. Nothing to worry about. All you do, is remove the card and put your old one back in or in my case boot with the integrated graphics, then find the driver for the right OS and OS version (MAKE SURE IT'S THE LATEST VERSION OF DRIVER). Then once it's downloaded (don't install yet), go to msconfig.exe in search and under boot, tick "Safe Mode". once you have done that, shut it down and Install your graphics card again and connect your display up to the card. It should work in safe mode. after that, uninstall the existing driver and install the new driver. Then go back to msconfig.exe and untick safemode, reeboot and boom: Done.

(Safe mode is a state of windows with less drivers.)

Worked for me :)
