Black Screen when turn on computer all i can see is my mouse arrow

I get a black screen after windows logo on startup. All I can see is the mouse arrow on screen.

Are you able to boot into Safe Mode by pressing F8 as the computer is booting up?

Have you recently updated any drivers such as video, etc?

Also, try the option of Boot to VGA mode if Safe Mode doesn't work.

Sounds like you might have a faulty video driver or card since you're getting past the Windows logo and then see nothing but a mouse cursor.

I recently updated windows and since then the problem occured. I did a system restore and it worked. I'm back up and running.
