Hey

recently i bought the following pc
I5 4440
8GB DDR3 1333MHz
R9 290
Coolermaster G550

So i was playing Trackmania and my screen is getting black randomly. the sound continues like nothing happends. i can hear if i press on esc etc. but no screen. tried different DVI port on my GPU still no screen. i am going to play BF4 to test it

i am totally in the R9 290 unhapy fanclub. the card preforms pretty good. but has some serious issues. i might be running my card on a lower PSU (CM G550) but it should do the job. since day one my card crashed after 1-2 min on heavy load. went benchmarking 1-2 minutes and my screen went black. I FIXED THIS ISSUE by increasing the Powerlimiter in Catalyst control Centre to 50% Yes MAX. runned after that 5 hours of benchmarking withouth any problems

now 2 months later one of my DVI ports is lose. one time it works but ifi t moves a little it stops working. i am not sure if this is the problem since so far it happend only while playing Trackmania. and not while BF4 or ETS2. to be sure i took a different DVI port on the card

can you rma the card?

i have friend that tried every possible fix you can find , he also bought a new computer and black screen still happens.

i can RMA it but i wont. i wont get it back before GTA 5 releases. 1 of the 2 DVI ports broke. still got HDMI left so if all my ports break i will RMA it but for now its working fine on the different DVI

i believe its not the dvi ports that causes your black screens. use hdmi and test it out

i can RMA the car. but i am 100% sure it is my DVI port. if i connect my DVI cable in that port i do get screen. if i move that output port a little bit my screen goes black. move it back and its back to normal. using now the other dvi port and so far nothing happend.

i am pretty sure it is the DVI port

hmmm if by moving it, the screen returns you are probably right
