So here's the deal. I got an Asus n551zu with Amd fx 7600p APU with r7+r9 m280x dual gpu's, 8ram pc3l-12800. There was no problem 'til now but recently since i started to watch like 2-3 movies a day the screen started having glitches/lags and soon afterwards it goes black, no mouse, no nothing, completely black and 5 mins later the screen shuts down, the fan is working but no video nor audio. I thought it was from the driver update so I tried everything .. deleting the drivers, reinstalling, completely clean installing, even clean install in safe mode. I system restored to an earlier date of the drivers but the same problem occurs. Wanted to ask if anybody has been thru this or if he has an idea of a fix? Tried different players, wmp, vlc, km, splayer - each behaves differently when a glitch occurs but it ends the same.

Hi,

Please do start by doing a clean install with the graphics driver.
- Go to Device Manager and uninstall the AMD graphics driver.
- Next is to open Programs and Features then uninstall anything related to AMD.
- Once completely uninstalled, download and install the latest driver.
- Here's the link: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download
- Reboot the laptop once the latest driver has been installed.
- After the reboot do also change the Power Options settings.
- Open Power Options then click on Change Plan Settings then Change Advanced Power Settings.
- Expand Hard Disk then set Turn off Hard disk after to NEVER.
- Expand Sleep and set Allow hyrbid sleep to OFF.
- Set Hibernate after to NEVER.
- Do also set Sleep Mode to Never.

Thank you so much, I did the following step by step and i tested for the past 3 hours.. not even a glitch. Though I can't understand where exactly was the problem - with the sleep mode or with the hdd hibernating but thanks for your advice. Sincerely!
