Hi,
I have just upgraded my cpu from an i3 2120 to an i5 3570k. After this, whenever I turn the pc on, I get a black screen. I can hear sound from hradphones, but no display.
If I plug the vga into the mobo the pc works fine, display and all.
I have tried disabling the intel hd drivers in device manager, and setting the display choice from auto to peg in bios. I am wondering, is it a case of not having enough power? My psu is 400w. The gpu is receiving power, and the fan is spinning, but no display.

What GPU are you running? It's entirely likely that your PSU isn't supplying enough power, 400w is very low and depending on make and quality, it may not have much on the 12v rail, which supplies your CPU and GPU, your new CPU could be pulling enough that the GPU isn't being left with enough, you also risk damaging the components if your PSU isn't supplying enough power

also if the psu was running it fine before the chip upgrade I guess it should be fine now but with intel socket having that bent pin thing to happen I wonder if that my of occurred ?? I sure you have tried resetting the card to be sure its in the slot right. and I also guess all you did was change the chip and did not make any changes to anything else??
