Question Black screen with new card

Over the weekend i bought a gigabyte gtx 1660 OC 6gb to upgrade my system without a previous card. Upon plugging it in and after turning on my pc there is a single beep and the screen stays dark. The PCI cable is plugged into the graphics card and I have an adapter(vga to hdmi) which goes into the card itself. The PC works fine with integrated graphics but wont boot with the new card. I have updated the bios and selected the primary display to pci. Every part but the graphics card is only a month old.

Config:
Motherboard: Gigabyte B360M H
Processor: Intel i5 8400 2.8 GHz
Graphics card: Gigabyte 1660 OC 6gb
PSU: Corsair VS 550

I have an adapter(vga to hdmi)

You may have the regular HDMI to VGA cable, if you did. That is the problem, because the hdmi transmit the digital signal, but vga only transmit the analog signal only, so you will need the hdmi to vga Active adapter.

I just tried the hdmi to vga active adapter and unfortunately the problem is still there

1. Try other PSU, because the Corsair VS series PSU is not the best one, but it should be fine. And who knows, it maybe, just maybe have problem to handle the gtx1660.
2. Test the GPU in other PC to see it works or not.
