a few days ago, i installed windows 10 onto my new ssd and formatted all the data on my SSHD, so i could use the ssd as a boot drive and the SSHD as storage. when i shut down my pc on windows 10 and try to power it back on after it has shut down, a black screen appears white dash, that doesn't flash, on the top left. the only way i can boot windows 10 is to manually turn off the power supply and then turn it back on and then press the power button. how can i solve this problem without manually turning my power supply off and then back on?

Pretty much same bios as what i have, is the sshd showing at all in boot order?

have you got latest bios or motherboard drivers from Asus?

right click start button
choose command prompt
type chkdsk C: /f and press enter
two paragraphs appear, type Y to agree to running it at restart - this will check the file system

change boot order so USB is first, hdd second
boot from installer
on screen after languages, choose repair this pc, not install.
choose troubleshoot
choose advanced
choose start up repair - this will scan PC and maybe fix this - will ask for logon info

can you show me a screen shot of disk management?
did you have sshd in PC when you installed win 10 on ssd? in what order did you do this? Did you format the sshd during the install process or after?

Win 10 has this terrible habit of using 2nd hdd as the location for its boot sector so it may have used the sshd instead of ssd if it was in at same time...

this would stop it booting but perhaps not explain it if you can get into win 10

Have you looked in bios to see what boot order is?

i unplugged my sshd before i installed windows 10 onto my ssd and then once i was in windows 10 from my ssd, i formatted my sshd. my first boot order is P2=sandisk 240gb which is my ssd

i don't have the latest bios, but i think i found the problem. when i unplugg my sshd from my pc, my os can shut down and reboot just fine with my ssd plugged into my motherboard only, without manually turning off my psu. i don't understand the problem
