black screen withcursor only

when i turned on my PC it shows black screen with cursor only. i am using Windows 7 OS. if i presses the ctrl+alt+del., it displays task manager, please rectify my problem

Hopeful easy fix. Restart the pc, keep hitting "f8" key on boot, select "last known good configuration". Does no harm if it doesn't work, but it may work.

Seems like explorer isn't launching just go into task manager click new task and type explorer.exe that should fix your problem if explorer dosent launch next startup automatically try running your computer in safe-mode as that tends to fix a lot of startup problems.
