Hi,

Tryibg to print (manually tablet ) two sided on a hp 970cxi, i get a black
trace of one cm at one third of the paper: the trace is strong at the
beginning and disappears afterwards, in leaving some black dust on the
paper.

Does anyone knows how to remove this ? F.ex. in cleaning the printer
(all hp support cleaning actions have been tried)

Tia,
Paul

Paul, I assume the mark is vertical on the paper?
If so the most likely cause is ink on the paper guides or rollers, other than
stripping the printer down and cleaning them (not recommended unless you are
experienced at this sort of thing) I would try the following:
Lightly coat some heavy paper or light card (100 - 120 gsm) with isopropyl
(denatured) alcohol and feed it through the printer several times, if it
improves then keep doing it until the defect disappears. You may need to use
several sheets, replace them before they start to soften too much. The alcohol
will evaporate quickly and will not harm the printer mechanism.
