Hopefully this can end the iOS/Android fanboi arguments. I am tired of those

There's no such thing as an Android Fanboi around here.

Apple may have been cool but the Z10 just looks sexy.
BB is bringing sexy back.

Headline is a little misleading - it's really no different to an athlete achieving a new personal best time and then touting it as 'record breaking'.

More competition is always good, though I wish Tom's was a little less sensationalist in its headlines.

I've heard good things about the Z10. I doubt I'll pick one up (only need a phone for calls, texts and music so I'm still on an '07 phone with 16gb memory stick) but give it a few years with a good deal, sure, why not. That's if better deals don't come up of course.

blackberry just upsize their order of Lseries liverpool, original plan is, we will be working 24/7 for 4 weeks without rest day to meet the target, now the management change it to 24/7 for 8 weeks without rest day to meet the requirements requested by blackberry. This could only mean one thing, Liverpool model is for UK, upsize order of liverpool mean high demand in UK, Blackberry is giving away 4 new chevy cars for us employee of Wistron so we have motivation to work hard for the whole 8 weeks..

Got to say I'm surprised, but in a good way. Much better if you have three or four viable entities competing instead of just two.

I honestly thought BlackBerry was dead as disco. Making it possible to emulate Android apps just might have saved their butts. Maybe instead they can regain a foothold as #2 or #3 once Apple's market share slides back into single digits, like it always does once people stop going "OMG ITS SHINY" and realize that it's overpriced garbage.

I don't usually get hung up on my comments getting the thumbs down, but I distinctly recall about 6 or so months ago when everybody was on the "RIM is done" bandwagon and I wrote that I wouldn't write them off just yet - and I got flamed - for what I thought was a sensible opinion, well.... look who's back in town? As a side note, I've never owned a BlackBerry, but my next phone will be it for sure, seeing that I'm sick and tired of buying Asian made (no disrespect meant our Asian friends) phones - not only is BlackBerry a Canadian company, but the phone is Canadian made as well.

[citation][nom]otacon72[/nom]...right. Android Fanboys are worse than Apple ones here.[/citation]
Congrats. You just proved yourself wrong.
Again.

Nailed it. I said it before, if BB embraces Android apps natively (even without GApps), there will be plenty of devs out there making these available. The hardware is already better than anything Apple has on their phone.

Sooo 3 x ??. Is 3 x 1k phone sales as previous month/quarter or what are they really saying. There are no numbers here, but 3 x whatever is just misleading on what numbers of sales they really have. It's sorta like saying I sold 3 x more computers this month (3 x 1 computer), so I'm exceeding my expectations!!! /s

[citation]company was left behind[/citation]

No, the company voluntarily stayed behind and ignored the marked while expecting people to keep buying keyboard phones just to send email, and then they did not take seriously their first attempt at making a modern smartphpone. If the Storm had been as serious an effort as the Z10, they would not have to be playing catchup so much.

[citation][nom]killerclick[/nom]I'm always suspicious when companies express the good news in relative terms. They should just say how many units they sold.[/citation]

Publicly traded companies are not allowed to disclose these numbers until their quarterly or yearly financial statements. IFRS or GAAP standards put that rule in place, not the companies.

Bite your tongue! Disco will be back too! 😉
