Hello, I am having issues with games goin to black screen and freezing at random, sometimes I can play for a day and sometimes for a few minutes. There is still sound in the background when this happens, but I can't Tab out or Task manager out forcing a hard reset. I recently upgraded some hardware and I'm not sure which is the problem. For awhile I thought it might be overheating issues but after some monitoring that doesn't seem to be the case. I'm starting to think it's the power supply but would like some other opinions. The monitor, gpu, and ssd are new. Current setup is:
ASUS M5A99FX Pro R2.0 Motherboard
16GB Ram
AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor 4.0GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080
DirectX 11
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Corsair CX600 Power Supply
ASUS ROG SWIFT PG278Q 27" 2560x1440 144Hz 1ms G-SYNC Eye Care Gaming Monitor
Samsung 1TB SSD

So I've put a corsair 750w power supply in and still hving a problem. I'm curious about the connectors. The card has two 8 pin ports and i have it connected with one 8 pin and one 6+2 pin, the 6+2 pin is a little confusing and seems redundant to have a cord that loops back to itself plugged in. Should I unplug this +2?

I agree with it being the Power Supply.
600W would be fine for an intel based GTX 1080 system but it might be a bit lacking for an AMD based system.
Unusual, i'd expect a Corsair PSU to be able to keep up, they are usually extremely well rated.

But yeah, AMD builds = 750W PSU usually.
