By the time it's fully tested, it's obsolete.

Reminds me of some of the early 1tb cheap HDD - they seldom lasted long enough to write a terabyte.

How much time does it take to test? 3x as much doesn't mean much if we don't have a baseline.
30 minutes becomes 1.5 hour? 1 day becomes 3 days?

I recall they got less reliable when they started getting over 1tb, I remember well when all HDDs lost 5 year warranties they once had. That was when I stopped using HDDs except for movies
