blah dreaded realm down message

I was doing Tristy runs, and then popped out to get a mule with sigons
sheild, popped back in dropped the sheild in a game with a friend in
and went and grabbed my rocking level 13 barb -- end of. Realm down
.....

I assume I have been temp banned for the first time in years and years
on Diablo -- no hacks here, I enjoy the game to much for that. Only
issue is how long does this typically last for?
