After purchasing a new computer case and transferring the old components into the new case, I've been unable to get past startup. Everything worked perfectly before, but now after the motherboard screen a screen pops up for 2 or 3 seconds saying:
"JMicron Technology Corp. PCI Express to PATA IDE Controller ROM v1.07.16
Copyright(C) 2005-2009. JMicron Technology Corp.
Detecting drives; Done; No drives found."
It then goes to the Windows Error Recovery screen. Regardless of whether I start normally or in safe mode, it goes to a black screen (with the mouse visible and working) where it stays indefinitely.
Both my HDD and disk drive appear in the BIOS and boot menu, and I've rotated them between every SATA port on my motherboard with no change, let it sit at the blank screen for hours, dissembled and replugged every connection on my mobo 3 times, and changed the boot order with no changes. I've heard disabling JMicron ports in the BIOS menu can help, but it's not mentioned anywhere in my BIOS, including in the Advanced settings.
I'm using an Asus M4A87TD/USB3 with a 2000GB Seagate Barracuda running Windows 7. Thanks.
