I have an Aspire V 14 Touch Windows 10. Recently, as I tried to open it, it prompted "Scanning and Repairing drive C:". It took a little while to finish but it did. After that, the usual loading logo of Acer comes on but then after that it prompted some sort of actions stating "Phase 0 Watch Dog".... It went on pretty quick so i wasn't able to process the details. It did not go upto phase 1. The screen went complete blank white after that. As i type, the screen is still blank and its been 30mins. (After a while, I could move around the blank screen with my mousepad. Still no response from keyboard) Any kind of help would be appreciated. Thanks :)

UPDATE: I randomly pressed a button and this screen came up:
" :( Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info, and then we'll restart for you."
Below: There is a QR code and beside it reads "For more info about this issue and possible fixes, visit http://windows.com/stopcode"
"If you call a support person, give them this info: Stop Code: CRITICAL PROCESS DIED"
I will look up some possible solutions on the tips given, but until then the post remains unsolved. Especially because there seems to be no progress with the collection of error info. still 0% after 30 mins.

Phase 0 watchdog is an AVG error, have a look at this as I seen that before: https://support.avg.com/answers?id=906b0000000LSQ2AAO

I see your post on Microsoft forums, they never know what this is as its not a windows problem, its AVG that causes it.

Have you turned device on and off? does it start? can you login at all? if you cannot, lets see if we can get you into safe mode:

if it doesn't start, on another PC, download the Windows 10 media creation tool and use it to make a win 10 installer on USB

you will need to change boot order in bios to boot from usb first, boot drive second

boot from installer, on 2nd screen after languages, choose repair this pc, not install
choose troubleshoot
choose advanced
choose start up...

choose advanced
choose start up options
hit the restart button
choose a safe mode with networking
PC will restart and load safe mode

If you are successfully in safe mode then please run the AVG remover tool to remove the traces of AVG antivirus.
1) To download AVG remover tool, please click on this link: http://aa-download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe
2) Run the downloaded file and follow the onscreen instructions.
3) Restart your PC when the restart option is displayed on the remover tool screen.
NOTE: Once you have logged into your PC after the restart, please go to C:\ drive and delete the "AVG REMOVER" folder manually.

After this boot your PC into normal mode and check whether the issue persists.
