Blank screen with flashing power led

Fujitsu pc with Gigabyte mother board will not start up.
Monitor is blank bios cannot be displayed.
Green power led is flashing startup beep is long with 2 short ones to follow.
Hard drive appears to be accessed.
Nothing displayed. Monitor and lead ok as working with laptop. Removed extra ram and disconnected hard drives. Floppy is accessed again nothing displayed. Now trying to reset cmos bios.
Any ideas?

Hi A,
I get continuous very fast beeps now. I am also unable to power down with the front panel button.
PC has to be powered off at the mains socket.

Hi, Can you test different graphics card?

Hi,
No I don't have a spare graphics card. I was hoping the flashing power on led or the pattern of beeps would indicate where the error might be. I have searched the web for documentation on this feature but no luck. I have found that the flashing power led means the power management has set the pc into the S1 standby state.
