Yeah, I actually don't know how to describe this problem so that's the only term I could really come up with.

Basically I have this Acer monitor... I've had it for a few years now and it's always been fine. Earlier today, that suddenly happened. Actually, in the beginning it was just two black spots at the bottom of my screen, then I did a search around here and elsewhere and thought it was a dead pixel or stuck pixel thing, so I found this LCD Repair website and did that "fix" thing and left it on for about 15 minutes. That's when those two black spots started bleeding to the top of the screen with those vertical lines. I can see different colors in them. The spots are black and red with maybe some yellow and light blue or greenish color, the vertical lines are also somewhat similar... and they all look very smudged.

The only thing I know of that happened earlier is my mum wiped my monitor with a cloth and I think she used one of those cleaning sprays for it but I used it for an hour afterwards (I was playing a game) and it was fine. Then all of a sudden, these spots were on my screen.

So, what are these exactly and how can I fix them? They're not visible when I switch off my monitor though so I'm guessing it's fixable using software?

OK, but what is this problem exactly? And why did it get worse when I used that LCD monitor thing?

Also, I had shut down my system when I made this thread, now I switched it on again, and now some of these lines seem to have faded/disappeared on their own.
