Hi,

I am having a problem at start up for the last 2 days. A blue screen appears at start up which says the following:

POST Error occurs!
Profile 1) : Default
Success Boot Record : Last Known Good
Success Boot Record 1) : 2 times

Del : Setup
F1 : Continue to boot
Enter : Select Profile
System continues in 15 sec.....

It also showed a bios error at start up. Is this a Software or Hardware problem?
Will formatting my PC resolve the problem? Please help.....

My system configuration is as follows:

Intel i3-2100 3.10 GHz processor
Windows 7 Ultimate (32 Bit)
Gigabyte H61M-S2P-B3 PCB
4 GB Kingston RAM
450 Watt SMPS

Please do reply as its urgent......

You should consider "cleaning the CMOS battery".

If you dont know what it is :

The CMOS is a little bit of RAM that stores all the BIOS information so that each time the computer restarts or powers on, the computer can remember this information.

When you take it off for about 60 seconds your PC will lose the BIOS information and you will have it reseted.

In other words : Reset you BIOS by cleaning the CMOS and try again.

Thanks Yoann for your reply. I forgot to mention that the screen also showed CMOS checksome error.

Can you please tell me that how can I clean/clear my BIOS on the motherboard and reset BIOS. Do I have to reset my BIOS settings to their factory defaults ? How can I do this ?

My PC also started several times before this problem occurred. You can also send me a link to the above problem.
