Blinking Amber Light Due to Graphics Card?

Hi, I have a Dell Optiplex 755. Whenever I attempt to boot it, I receive a blinking amber light rather than the usual one. I noticed that when I unplug the video card, it boots fine. When I plug in the graphics card (a nVidia), it appears that it does not receive any power because the fan is not spinning on it.

I have tried turning on and off the power surge, to no avail. There is nothing plugged into the USB slots, either, and I am sure that the card is plugged in all the way.

How do I fix this? I can not afford another video card, so hopefully it is not broken.

(sorry if this is in the wrong forum, this seemed like the closest bet)

Most modern video cards have an external power connector that has to be connected for the card to function and many have LEDs that indicate when it is not connected. Could be that is the case here, look for a 4 pin molex or 6 pin PCI-E power connector on the card and plug it into your power supply if that's the case. What is the model of the card you are trying to use?
