Maybe, since they're an EA property, they can re-release it every year, give us a new list of players, so we can pretend it's a new game and fork over more money for a worn out, pimped out version of itself?

Sorry guys...The original (non-4K) Starcraft & Brood War will be released for free after the 1.18 patch is released. The remastered Starcraft (i.e. 4K gameplay/1080p cutscenes) wil not be free.

But that's quite all right, I'll still pay the money anyway. With Starcraft, what's kept me coming back (& even kept my interest with SC2) was a combination of the gameplay, the single-player campaigns, & the multiplayer (over both LAN & Internet). I'll be saving up the cash for this one...

Makes sense since SC is better than SC2 imo. I used to spend months on SC; with SC2 I lost interest after the campaign. HoTS has been quite fun though.

What they really need to do is remaster ALL their older games and have them available on battle.net (wc, wc2, wc3, lost vikings, lostvikings 2, blackthorne, diablo1, diablo 2). As a bonus, they could remaster Rock n' Roll Racing and include things such as online multiplayer.

Nope, the WCCFTech article (http://wccftech.com/starcraft-remastered-announced-summer/) specifically states that it'll support both 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios (& apparently let you switch between them with a keystroke in-game)...

Hey lets not listen to the fans for what they want. If Blizzard wants to do remastered, then they should have done a proper version for Diablo for its anniversary rather than what they did for it in Diablo 3.

I would have liked Diablo 2:Remastered instead of Starcrap.

Diablo 2 will most likely never get a remaster it would be a way more challenging game to remaster than starcraft 1 they would essentially need to remake the game in 2d again with many more character/demon models than starcraft. They could opt to make it 3d based but then it would not feel like the same game due to how collisions and other things work in 3d environments.

I guess it is not possible to increase the frame rate or animation. There is a technical reason but just could not get it from my head. I believe there is an equivalent number of frames for each action in the game, thereby, increasing the frame rate to something like 60 fps is equivalent to doubling the speed of the entire game. Please correct me though.

Awesome, WarCraft 1 next please, then Warcraft 2 Battle.Net edition. Diablo 1 would great remastered as well. They had that "tribute" in D3 for it, but it wasn't nearly similar, just used an old graphics look.

The current update was a good one, but I wish it had added SC1 to the Battle.net app. guess I can hope the remastered version will. It would be nice to be able to launch all my Blizzard games from the one app.

I believe you can. I think I was able to add my old CD serial number to it, & then it let me redownload it & have it in the app, but I'll have to check...

I'm not sure I follow, are you saying that Diablo 2 would be harder to remaster than SC1 just because it has more animations/models?

If Blizzard still has the original 3D source models, I believe they could just re-render the sprites/maps at higher resolution/color depth/whatever, rather than redo the graphics from scratch.
