I have:

LG Smart TV
Cisco e4200 router
Win 8.1 PC

I'd like to block internet access to my Smart TV but still connect to the LAN for streaming from my PC. LG has some very sketchy privacy issues and I'd like to block its access to the internet. I can't seem to find any settings in my router (it uses linksys smart wifi for access) to do this while still maintaining access to the LAN. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions

Solution

Use Access Restrictions in the router settings to block Internet access to the TV.

Edit: update link
From a quick look it does not look like that router has any ability to block web sites. Normally you can put rules in routers that can filter traffic for some users.

Many easiest to just lie to the tv. If you can set the ip address on the tv statically try to leave the gateway blank, or put in a ip other than that of the router. If it can't find the router it can't get the internet.

Otherwise I suspect you are going to have to look either for a different router or maybe you can load third party firmware like dd-wrt or tomato on your router.
