Blu-Ray Burner Not Detected

I have an internal LG Blu-Ray burner that worked fine in Windows 7. I upgraded to 10 a while back and Windows no longer detects the drive. It does not show up in Explorer or in Device Manager, but still opens and closes and has power. In Explorer there is now this random "DVD Drive" that's listed. I tried installing firmware from LG's website and it says it cannot detect the drive. I have tried moving the SATA cable to another port (someone said that worked for them) entering something in cmd and rebooting, nothing has worked.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I've seen it all now. I got the idea to switch out the Blu-Ray drive with an old DVD drive to try to figure out if the Blu-Ray drive was the problem. I opened up the case and discovered the SATA cable came loose from the back of the Blu-Ray drive, likely when I was installing my GTX 1080 a while back. I have not used the Blu-Ray drive since then, so I assume it came loose during the process of installing the card. I pushed the SATA cable in securely, rebooted the PC, and it's all working again!

If it's not detected in the BIOS, then looking for a Windows-based solution is going to prove fruitless.
You need to get it detected in the BIOS, before Windows is even aware of it's existence.

Ensure all power/SATA cables are secure. If that doesn't work, try other SATA ports on the board and replacement SATA/power cables.
