Has been recovering a lot of old photos from 2 HDD's. 99% of my 100+ Gb is in perfect shape so now I decided I'll store this on Blu Ray disks. I use Verbatim discs and ImgBurn software on an Asus BW-16D1HT burner. But when the disk is finished and I try opening photos, then a lot of files just don't work. Some of them are totaly dead, others gets read like half of the picture, the rest is in one collor only. What can be the problem?

Solution
It could be your writing speed is too high so try knocking it down a notch or two in the burning software.
Also, ImgBurn would not be my first choice for general burning of files to disc anyway (except for burning CD images to disc).

So that's something else you could try, change to different and more suitable burning software for the task in hand, (but don't forget to keep the writing speed low whatever software you use).

Nero Burning ROM takes some beating, I never use anything else: http://www.nero.com/eng/products/nero-burning-rom/whats-new.php

Okay it's not free, but neither are writeable BD discs that you are wasting because of read/write problems:

Sorry for late answer... but you was totaly right. With the writespeed 1x it worked like a charm.
A bit confuced why the default speed is a totaly useless 48x
