Blue appearing more purple-ish

Hi guys,

Recently bought a new monitor to complete my triple monitor set-up. I opted out for a cheap led monitor which could save me money on electricity bills. Now, straight to my problem. The new monitor has perfect colors, apart from the blues. I mean how can they look so purple as to compared to my 2 other monitors? I tried using different settings on my monitor settings and using catalyst center and what not to try and calibrate my monitor to make the color blue actually blue. I really have no idea how to fix this.. Maybe it's a faulty monitor? Really need help on this one.

LED back-lit LCDs tend to have issues with blues due to the use of blue LEDs with a coating to make the light more white.

the issue is because you bought a "cheap" monitor.

as philfrisbie said they use blue leds with a coating to make the light appear almost white which does tend to give all colors a blue hue.

more expensive monitors use white leds which do not have this problem.
