Question Blue Compass boom arm wont stay in place

I'm pairing my Blue Compass with my Wave:3 which is a fairly light mic. My problem is I cannot get the middle joint of the blue compass to stay in place, it ends up just flying upwards. I've tightened the friction plate as much as I can and I've loosened the screw underneath the boom arm as much as I can, I've even taken the screw out with no results. How can I get my blue compass to stop being stubborn?

Contact the maker of it? Could be broken also or it needs a heavier mic to function.

I don't think I need a heavier mic because I've seen lighter mics being used and on the website of my mic arm it says it can hold up to 2.4ibs, there's no mention of a min weight you need that I could see. I have sent an email to Blue themselves so I'll have to see what they can do.
