Blue Ray DvD player conversion for pc

I found an old blue ray player from 2013 in my garage the other day and I’m sure the current problem with it is power related. Is there any way for me to salvage this in order to use it as a makeshift external drive for my PC? Here where I am a dedicated blue ray drive would cost me roughly 150 USD to buy and ship so if i could save that for a maybe future upgrade by using this old player It would definitely make my day.

Open the cover of that player, and see what's the interface between the drive itself, and the PCB. If you are (extremely) lucky, this will be SATA interface. If you are not - make sure you properly dispose of electronic garbage.
