I replaced my i3-6100 with a i7-7700k I bought from Micro Center. My current mobo is a MSI B150M and I know I need to update BIOS to the latest version so it supports 7th gen CPUs, which is what I did plus I also reset the CMOS.
My problem is whenever I boot up there is a 9/10 chance that there is no video. When it does have video, it tries to load up windows which results in a split second bluescreen loop. I tried to re-install windows via a USB but for some reason whenever I try to from the USB, the screen freezes and nothing happens.
I tried reseating the heatsink, I tried different Harddrives but nothing seems to be working. I suspect it might be the PSU considering I have a Seasonic 650W Bronze but I can't say for sure. I've never had something like this happen before and any help is appreciated. Thanks.
I just popped in the old CPU and everything boots up fine. Still have no idea what is wrong here.
