Hello. Have a very old Dell 210L desktop I just use for really old games. It only has Pci-e X1 and std PCI slots and picked up a gt 218 Pci-e X1 card to help improve things just a bit. I had another Pci-e X1 in it earlier and was working fine. I put the gt 218 in and system goes to a blue screen with msg:

Hardware malfunction
Call your hardware vendor for support
Parity check/memory parity error
The system has halted.

I know it's not the memory, and as I mentioned system was working fine just prior to the gt 218 install.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you

If your dell 210L is the dell optiplex 210L. The problem should either the PSU or the dell MB ( with intel 915GV chipset) does not support the gt218. That dell may have the 220W PSU, if you have to add the GPU, you may try to use the old version GPU, but I don't know which one.

You may find more info from the dell forum, like this: https://www.dell.com/community/Desk.../Graphics-Card-for-Optiplex-210L/td-p/4104119

Thank you. I did look at the PSU thinking that may be the culprit, but it is a 280w so that might be okay? I will look at the info you supplied a link to as well. Thank you very much!!!
