I just decided to try to boot up my ancient laptop from 2001 and it works fine until about 5 minutes after logging in where it freezes. It freezes for about half an hour before blue screening and showing the BAD_POOL_CALLER error screen. It then restarts, works for 5 minutes, then freezes again. Does anybody know how to fix this annoying issue?

Hi,
can you, (inbetween the BSODs) post the Dump file?
If your system is set to create a dump file you will normally find it in the root of your C drive.
A dump file cannot be created unless there is at least a nominal pagefile on the drive.
The system has to be set to create a memory dump. The default is to create a memory dump but systems are set up not to do this.
To view your settings select Start, Control Panel, System, Advanced System Settings, Advanced, StartUp and Recovery, Settings, System Failure, Write debugging information, scroll for options. Don't forget the Apply button.
Please post the Dump file here so I can assist you better.
Thanks,

I don't have enough time to when I log in. I log in, open a program and then it freezes. I can reinstall windows 8 if that will help.
