So when I turned on my computer this morning and after I logged in it blue screened on me giving me the error irql_not_less_or_equal
Stop: 0x0000000A (0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000001, 0xFFFFF80003496C3F)

After many attempts to single out the problem I still haven't found a solution Would be nice if someone can figure this out since I don't have the cash for someone to repair it

Ususally this is a hardware error or the software/drivers related to them, another common cause is overclocking. What are your system specs? Have you upgraded any drivers recently? Have you changed any hardware recently? Do you have any overclocks running?
Another cause can derive from BIOS settings, but those hardly exist compared to the first mentioned possible causes.

One thing to also consider is this error occurs very frequently with others when RAM modules are dying or improperly inserted or configured, or even the RAM module slots. Please consider running a memory check for your ram. Good luck I await your response :)

hi Darren, i've been searching for answer to my problem for quite an time now but to no avail! searching for the problem as usual has brought me to this post and i think after seeing your answer that you can solve my problem. Now coming to the problem, i just replaced RAM of my acer aspire laptop only to see blue screen erro after start logo stating irql_not_less_or equal problem. then there are things written like disableing cashing or shadowing etc.. but the problem is bios only shows very few options to play with and i guess manufacturer has locked most of the features to prevent user from changing them. i have replaced rams aswell but to no avail as the problem remains more or less same i.e. system won't boot up. new ram is of kingston and of same configuration but how to work around with things like overclocking or some other problem so that i can upgrade my ram. any help is much appreciated and much needed.

There's the possibility the RAM could be faulty or perhaps not compatible with the motherboard you are using them in.

http://www.memtest.org/

Try download a copy of this and run it with only 1 stick of ram in at a time (assuming there is more than one) and check results, then test the other. Should nothing go wrong try both sticks again.

The USB auto installer will probably be the easiest to setup, however on Floppy/CD might be one of the only options you can use (depending on your motherboard).

Thanks mate for this early reply :). If the module is bad than will it show up in bios? & i scheduled memory diagnostic test while running my system on old ram and then replaced old with the new one before restarting to see if memory diagnostics detects anything but it failed to run and displayed colored vertical lines on screen. you mentioned a s/w but since windows won't boot up on new ram , does it work prior system boot? Thanks for your time.

i've tried usb auto installer. A screen of memory test appear which in old ram starts memory tests after a beep but nothing happens after beep with new ram, only some colors appear in a flash and then system restarts and cycle of this test failure repeats itself.

Its acer aspire 5745, Model: zr7 , windows 7 ultimate 64-bit.
