so I just change my motherboard from Asus P8h77-m/csm with 3570k -> Asus Maximus VII Formula with 4790k, rest of the hardware is the same except for the Asus wi-fi adapter that comes with the motherboard.
What happens : power on -> Republic of Gamer icon with option to go in bios -> windows loading for about 1 seconde -> blue screen for about 1/4 seconde so can't check the error code -> reboot -> option between start normaly or windows repair. ( note that there is no safe boot mode )
What I have tried/checked until now :
- A friend told me blue screen often occurs for hardware reasons, I checked SSD ( windows installed ) and HDD connections, I checked ram well inserted, same with GPU. I figured CPU was plugued correctly since the computer boot.
- I checked the BIOS and the clock speed for my cpu is ok, clock speed for my ram is 1600mhz instead of 2400mhz but that won't stop the computer from booting, I can see both drives and the cd/dvd reader so they must be plugued corectly, I can see the ram so once again must be plugued corectly and I cannot seem to find where to check for my GPU in the BIOS.
- Tried windows repair but it didn't change anything as I expected...
what I consider doing :
- Unpluging the Asus wi-fi adapter as it is the only new hardware, see if there's any change
- Boot from windows dvd and either try repairing windows or reinstalling windows and losing everything on my SSD ( which is no big deal as all my files are on the HDD )
Any suggestions/comment ?
