Blue Screen Problem!

This is a thread concerning this laptop that I have (dell inspiron n4110 running windows 7). All of a sudden when I was booting this laptop, the screen goes blue for a fraction of a second and now I can't even get to the desktop. could someone tell me what is the problem? Do I have to reinstall windows? Would I lose all my personal files then?

Does it "bluescreen" at roughly the same point?

It sounds more like hardware than Operating System failure. A RAM module or your HDD could be bad.
You can however reinstall windows without loosing your files - when the selection for hard drive appears during the installation DON'T format the drive and it will move all your old files into a folder called "windows.old" on the new Operating System.

Can you boot into safe mode?
