An on-going problem I've had for years which is after a windows update or graphics driver update I get the repair screen on restart and it won't let me back into Windows it's a loop. It doesn't happen every single time, it's usually after a long period inbetween the updates, so I presumed the new graphics driver was conflicting with something in the Windows update for example. But every time I restart I do wonder if I'm going to be able to boot into Windows.

I can usually get back into Windows by uninstalling the latest update, or sometimes by turning the power on and off and booting the PC but it doesn't always work and in the past I've had to do resets.

Specs:
MSI B550 Tomahawk
Ryzen 9 5900x
RTX 3070
32GB ram (4x8)
Windows is installed on an SSD

I've got a wifi USB adapter connected

Are you using the official version of the nVidia drivers or beta drivers when you install them? Or how long has it been since you've updated your video card drivers?

Might be worth booting to Safe Mode, cleaning out the video drivers (you can use the tool found HERE), and then re-install the latest official drivers to and see if that helps anything.

I use Geforce Experience to update the graphic drivers and when it tells me a new driver is ready I install. Does Windows Update also install graphic drivers?

I will try the tool you suggested
