Hello

I've had my Lenova laptop for around 2 or 3 years now, and recently its just started to be really slow. So i decided to give it a virus scan which I haven't done for in a while, so i went to sleep and woke up with a black screen. The next day i had to restart my laptop several times to get it working again and decided to download the AVG security free trial, and felt the urge to initiate another virus scan and when I did it just turned into blue screen after like 10-15 mins through.

However i'm not 100% sure if they'e fully related as the blue screen does occur when watching you tube videos sometimes. So now i just don't know what to do to get rid of the blue screen.

Also after the blue screens my laptop takes very long to recover and takes ages for it to start up again and takes several restarts.

what model lenova do you have? it may have a driver utility you can download that checks laptop for outdated drivers and offers newer ones. It is going to be a driver, its just working out which one that is the fun part.

I could ask you to post dump files but I don't know how to read them, so that might be a waste of your time.

we can go the long way or you can follow the posting instructions here and post a question for them instead as they will answer it faster than I can: http://www.tenforums.com/bsod-crashes-debugging/

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Crash Dump Analysis
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Crash dump directory: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump

Crash dumps are enabled on your computer.

On Mon 12/09/2016 20:31:06 your computer crashed
crash dump file: C:\WINDOWS\memory.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: dxgkrnl.sys (dxgkrnl+0x1BA34)
Bugcheck code: 0xA (0x10, 0x2, 0x0, 0xFFFFF803A5502503)
Error: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
file path: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\dxgkrnl.sys
product: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System
company: Microsoft Corporation
description: DirectX Graphics Kernel
Bug check description: This indicates that Microsoft Windows or a kernel-mode driver accessed paged memory at DISPATCH_LEVEL or above.
This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem.
The crash took place in a standard Microsoft module. Your system configuration may be incorrect. Possibly this problem is caused by another driver on your system that cannot be identified at this time.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Conclusion
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One crash dump has been found and analyzed. No offending third party drivers have been found. Connsider using WhoCrashed Professional which offers more detailed analysis using symbol resolution. Also configuring your system to produce a full memory dump may help you.

Read the topic general suggestions for troubleshooting system crashes for more information.

Note that it's not always possible to state with certainty whether a reported driver is responsible for crashing your system or that the root cause is in another module. Nonetheless it's suggested you look for updates for the products that these drivers belong to and regularly visit Windows update or enable automatic updates for Windows. In case a piece of malfunctioning hardware is causing trouble, a search with Google on the bug check errors together with the model name and brand of your computer may help you investigate this further.

However the blue screens are way more recent than that as in yesterday and the day before.
