I will start by writing that yesterday i tried to install windows 8.1 pro on my laptop.
My laptop is: HP Pavilion DV6

After installed windows 8.1 pro i could download updates browse the internet everything was fine. But since i didn't have a good new key i had to install the windows 7 now over again.

I have here original box of Windows 7 Home Premium MEA OEM Software.

Now i tried to install this window 7 version before i installed the windows 8.1 pro and i tried to install it also now today after windows 8.1 pro installed on my laptop.
In both cases when the windows 7 installation got to the last step: Complete Installation after copying files after exapnding files install features and install updates when it did Complete installation then the laptop restarted then i saw a message doing something with registy then devices then a blue screen.

In the blue screen i could see at the bottom something with dump memory and running numbers untill 100% then the laptop started again.

Now i can't get into my hard disk to see the dump files tried with safe mode but i get a message that windows installation not finished yet so im in the middle here.

What i could do is to take a photo of the blue screen with my camera:

Another thing i must mention is that yesterday i bought a new hard disk for the laptop and installed the hard disk. I was running test for the hard disk yesterday and today again and the tests was fine. I also ran a memory test from my laptop bios and it was passed fine.

I'm also running now memtest86 on the laptop and after 3 rounds there are no errors.

The strange thing is that with windows 8.1 pro there were no problems at all and only with this windows 7 i'm getting the blue screen.

If this laptop started off as windows 8 then your problem is that the drive was formatted as GPT which windows 7 can not understand to boot to natively.

If you want windows 7 on the laptop you will need to format the drive as MBR and then you can install windows 7, you may also need to convert bios to legacy mode instead of ufei. Windows 7 supports ufei bios but its one of those 1 out of 10 times it has issues kind of thing.

The problem is so easy and i spent hours for nothing.
The problem is HIDCLASS.SYS and i found the answer here: http://www.hanselman.com/blog/FIXEDBlueScreenOfDeathBSO...

Once i remove from the laptop the mouse wireless usb everything went fine.
Now installation is completed and all is working.
It's just make you mad that the solution is so easy and you can't figure it out on the first time.

It's also my problem i didn'y google for it earlier.
