Question Blue Screen when shutting computer down cause ntoskrnl.exe driver

Been having a blue screen when shutting down Windows now for a week. shutdown takes long ime then the bluescreen DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE

I downloaded BlueScreenView and is shows ntoskrnl.exe as the reason in the minidump file.

  • 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q6700
  • 8GB (4x2GB) RAM
  • 1TB (2x500GB) SATA Hard Drive
  • nVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT Graphics
  • Windows Vista Home Premium (64-Bit)

Open Windows File Explore
Navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump
Copy the mini-dump files out onto your Desktop
use winzip or winrar to zip the files on the desktop
Upload the zip file to the Cloud (OneDrive, DropBox . . . etc.)
Then post a link here to the zip file, so we can take a look for you . . .

not sure if my app can do Vista dump files but worth a try
NTOSKRNL = windows kernel. It handles all driver requests, power management, and memory management. It sits between Hardware and Applications. It got blamed but its not the cause

I had a Dual core E6600 once. On Vista for about 6 years.
what motherboard do you have?
