Hi

I've had this issue since I purchased a HIS 7950 Ice-Q - YouTube works just fine and I've never blue screened in a game it's purely Vimeo - as soon as the video starts I just BSOD and get:

I'm using the 14.4 drivers - but I've had this issue with every version of drivers I've tried and I'm using AMDs own uninstaller before installing the latest drivers.

This happens in Firefox

I've followed some articles about extracting the atikmdag.sys to desktop and then copying it into /system32 but it had no effect.

Any got any advice?

Quick update on this: Come to find out, this issue may actually be related to software called "Core Temp". After updating to 14.6, and having it bluescreen on both Flash and HTML5, I decided to look in to it further. One thread I came across suggested the crash might be related to Core Temp. I checked their website for a software update, and the changelog shows the most recent release fixes some BSOD issues.

If you're using Core Temp, uninstall or update, and hopefully that will be the end of this; this has been a thorn in my arse for months. I will post back if I see any more crashes after updating.

Temps are fine, I'm using a custom rom from the 7950 owners thread on the overclockers forum:
http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18539905&highlight=7950

Hovers around 30-35 when idle and 50-60 when playing games (only playing Wildstar right now).

Can you post your build? - power supply make and model, graphics card make and model, case make and model, OS, etc etc

I don't run downloads from mediafire. Post it here per forum guide - img url img

Try another graphics card in your pc. Try your graphics card in another pc.

What temps are those? 30-35 and 50-60 - cpu, gpu? idle, gaming?

PSU: OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W
GFX Card: HIS 7950 Ice-Q
Case: Coolermaster elite 330
OS: Windows 7 64 bit

The temps were for my graphics card 30-35c idle and 50-60c whilst gaming. My CPU idles at around 30-40c and gets upto 60-70c while gaming.

I had a 6870 before with no issue and this 7950 was my brothers and he didn't have this issue either.

I've been plagued by this problem as well since the 14.x driver release; It is completely exclusive to Vimeo, and it happens when using the latest Waterfox. I am using an R9270X with ample power. While I can't offer a solution, I can tell you what I have, and haven't tried.

I have done a clean reinstall of the driver using AMD's clean install tool.
Like you, I tried manually extracting atikmdag.sys, which didn't help.
I have not tried using another browser, because Chrome runs incredibly slowly on my system for some reason, and doesn't support some plugins I require.
I have switched antiviruses, thinking the real time scanning may have been mucking about with the driver, and causing the crash.
I have modified the about:config setting (html5.offmainthread) to false.

It seems like I may have missed some things, but you get the idea; I have spent a lot of time looking in to this, and have come up with nothing. As it happens ONLY on Vimeo, and nowhere else, I can only assume the issue lies with AMD's 14.x drivers, or Mozilla's implementation of hardware acceleration. I'm strongly leaning toward an issue with the driver.

At least I'm not alone with this issue! I did reinstall the drivers 3 times in total and it was fixed for a few days and I could watch Vimeo but then Vines & Facebook videos would cause the BSOD so I tried another time and it's just Vimeo again..

Can you run Checkdisk on your hard drive

Run a virus scan on your hard drive - per dump file analysis

Update your graphics card drivers - per dump file analysis

Blow out your cpu and raise you cpu fan speed to 2000 rpm - per high temps

Then try again and post back

I am an IT person by trade, so my gaming/work computer has to be regularly maintained.

Virus scans done monthly via Avast, in conjunction with Immunet 3.
Two weeks ago, a chkdsk revealed no problems.
Dust filters on the case are cleaned regularly, and heatsinks blasted out with canned air as needed.
All seven case fans are running full blast.
Temps are monitored, and all are perfectly fine.
Computer also passes whatever stress tests you throw at it with flying colors.
Drivers are latest stable release (14.4), and clean installed.

That being said, I still get a bugcheck 07e on atikmdag.sys, only on Vimeo.

14.4 is the latest stable driver. But as Sizzlechest mentions it happens with other versions too. My machine also has no issue with temps I can leave it running Wildstar for hours on end with no issue and It's cleaned every 2 months. The first solutions I tried was a Chkdsk which didn't find anything.

I've already done a clean install within the last 7 days.

My PSU appears as a "Tier two class A" on that list and it handles games just fine and every other video player - Vimeo is the only problem, surely I wouldn't need a higher tier PSU just for that?

I found this thread while searching for a resolution to BSOD specifically while viewing Vimeo content.

Updating all three of these codecs/players resolved my issue: DivX player, Xvid codec and Quicktime.

I knew it HAD to be a codec/software problem. The system is a recent bare bones Win7 64 build - my hardware is Asus Z87-A mob, i5-4670K Haswell, PowerColor PCS+ AXR9 270X 2GB, 16Gb G Skill RAM, No OC'ing on either CPU or GPU. The notion of a web video exceeding my h/w capabilities is akin to a housefly trying to knock down a fighter jet.
