Well this only occured today. Yesterday my PC was running fine and it was just a normal day and I shut down my PC properly and switched it off at the plug. And today as I was booting it up I got to the windows starting screen as soon as the logo began to appear I'd freeze and the blue screen would appear for like half a second.

Solution
reinstall would help certainly.
I guess it's just a matter of drivers. I missunderstood the options in an earlier post: it's not the "normal boot or repair" that I understood as I do now...

so forget that post.
let us know if reinstall gives the same errors. if so than it's Hardware related ! Then we need to figure out which part is failing !

good luck and best holiday wishes to all reading this !

Hi there,

Can you elaborate on the Plug where you switch off your PC ?
Do you also use the startbutton and shutdown ? cause windows or any computer doesn't like a powerloss to be shutdown !

It can well be that you have a hardware issue, because BSOD is usually a driver/hardware conflict !
a corrupt driver in the best case or a broken harddisk in worse case !

Let us know this little piece of info and we'll continue from there !

Cheers, Louise.

My PC plug is plugged into a extension lead there is a number of switches on it. Press the start button to boot my PC and use the shutdown option in Windows to shut it down also idk that much about bsod driver as such

Would it be possible that your PC needs cleaning inside ?
Have you checked for dust ?

With an aircompressor blow out all the dust ! Thermal protection kicks in when getting hot and shuts down !

Let us know what you see !

Cheers, Louise.

forgot to ask: is it a new PC ? or old one ? it's a hardware problem, if it's under warranty you need to go to the shop where you bought it ! if no more warranty continue reading:

I read the error message: "windows failed to start ... etc...

did you run the "repair" ? because in the video you continue with "start normally"! (but I guess you tried that too).

It could be that you have corrupt files (the ones to start windows).

Can you run somekind of bootdisk from a CD-ROM and do a checkdisk or something similar in LINUX ?
OR:
Do you have the possibility to connect the Harddisk to another PC (in slave) and run "chkdsk [driveletter]" ?
(This commando doesn't work like this you need to know the driveletter.)

I know it's not so simple but that is the only thing I can think of to check if it's your harddisk.

if chkdsk can repair it you're saved !
if it's bad sectors, you need to change the HDD !

let us know, Louise.

I got this PC 3 years but have upgraded it since then and the only thing thats old in it is my PSU and HDD. Also I did chksdsk and it says windows has checked the file system and found no problem so I think the HDD is safe.
I don't how my files got corrupted since it was running fine with no problem.

Files can go corrupted very easily... an update, a bad shutdown, or more.
I cannot tell how your PC got this far !

What do you mean with : "I already cleared most of the dust on my PC 2-3 pior to this"

is it 2-3 years ?

Have you checked the HDD with speccy on another PC ?
An MBR-repair could also tell you more !

I'm out of options so far.
Let us know, Louise.

It was 2-3 weeks pior and I use speccy on my PC regularly and the temp using 40-50°c also what's an Mbr-repair

It's says there is a system repair pending which requires reboot to conpletr. Restart windows and run SFC again

Yeah but everytime I reboot it brings me to two options start Windows normally or startup repair

Would reinstallation work?

Now the day before I got this problem I was trying to play PSnow by using my keyboard and mouse when you need a controller and so I download so programmes called like joystick and two other I can't remember the name of also I think Norton did register the files as not safe. So could they be the problem to this?

Solution
So I wiped my hard drive and install windows 7 32bit professional for temp. It did boot into Windows but was freezing all the time and the hard drive was going mad how I know this is because the activity led was solid red and so it asks me to restart windows and so I did but when I got to the windows logo screen the logo assembles and the blue screen for a half a second.

Things that are old and new in my pc
OLD:RAM
OLD: HDD
OLD: PSU
NEW:CPU
NEW: DVD ROM
NEW: MOTHERBOARD

I reckon that it's my PSU that is failing cause I was looking at symptoms to see if your PSU is failing and one of them said that it may cause file corruption as well as startup failure and also it makes this werid noise like it's tripping and also I said it takes a long time to boot which happens to me.

Got the new psu and placed it in and booted it up and the error still existed then i took to the shop and the guy reloaded it for me and installed windows on it and now its fixed and brand cheers for all you're help
