Question Blue Screen

I have a b250-hd3 motherboard I have 16gb of ram and I have a windows 10 that isn't activated and its I guess a "knock off" where I didn't buy it from Microsoft themselves but its windows 10 pro and I have a i5-7500. My problem is that when I try to install more then 8gb of ram my computer will sooner or later blue screen and each error code is to do with RAM I have checked which slots to install it in so I don't think that's the problem. But any support would be really appreciated. I just want to know what is causing my PC to not be able to run 16gb of ram.

reinstall windows 10, download from MS website. you can run it unactivated

I have a radeon rx550 for gpu and a 1tb hardrive. And it is 64 bit. It is a ddr4 2133MHz ram stick both of them 8gb.
