Question Blue screens during Windows 10 instal

Hello,

I have been getting blue screens over the past week or so with the error message “WHEA_UNCONTROLLABLE_ERROR” after installing some new drivers. After some research it looks like this error is driver or hardware related, so I tried to do a reformat to see if it would fix my issues (I had been wanting to do one anyway).

While trying to reinstall windows I keep getting the error about 20% of the way through and now that the partition has been deleted, I cannot get back on the OS to try and roll back the drivers.

I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what could be causing the crashes and if I can fix it from BIOS or somehow get the OS working again.

Would strip it down to a single stick of ram, the boot drive, mouse/keyboard, gpu (if no integrated graphics) and work up from there.

Stripped it down to internal GPU and 1 stick of RAM and the install is consistently making it to about 70% now instead of 20%. I’m not really sure what else to try, I’m thinking it has to be the motherboard or ssd at this point. Any other ideas?

I’d try a new drive first.
