So, I got a new mic today. Yes the Blue Snowball mic. I got one today and I was so excited to plug in the new mic and hear the difference between my old mic vs the Blue snowball. But to be honest, My old my was 10000x Better than this. And it was a headset mic. The audio is way! to low and I cant even hear myself. I pretty much have to eat my mic to reach -6bd. I see people on you tube farther than me while using the mic and they have better audio quality than me. Pleas help.

Solution
I think you are mistaking audio quality with loudness. If you can't really hear your new Snowball mic then you really can't be a judge of it's audio quality.

Try this

Right click the speaking icon in the windows tray, click "recording devices". Find your microphone, right click it and then click "properties". At the top click the "levels" tab and make sure that the volume is at max.

I have a blue snowball and it should work just fine a good distance away from yourself.
