So I go on Skype and start a call and I am unable to use my mic.

I try disconnecting it and trying it in different USB slots and making sure it was connected properly but it still doesn't work.

I restart my computer and when it turns back I get BSOD (I dont know if this has anything to do with the problem), however I missed what the problem was.

Anyway, I go into device manager and when I disconnect the Mic a device in

Human Interface Device -
HID-compliant consumer control device (yellow triangle)

Sound, video and game controller -
USB Audio Class 1.0 and 2.0 DAC Device Driver (no yellow triangle)

and

USB controller -
USB composite device (no yellow triangle)

these all disappear. I tried updating all these and there all up to date.

I'm not sure if I can help with anything else, but will provide more infomation if needed.

when updating the "USB Audio Class 1.0 and 2.0 DAC Device Driver" it tells me that it determined that it was up to date.

The HID-compliant consumer control device has not went away and has now appeared in the other devices as a Unknown device with a yellow triangle!

When opening the unknown device it says

This device is not configured correctly (Code 1)
