I have having the exact same problem as this user, if anything, mine is a bit worse: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2619127/blue-snowball-coming-advanced-audio-device.html

Before, it looked something like this, how it should look: http://i.imgur.com/AwmJeWe.png I found the picture on google so it is not exact.
I also had it named "Blue Snowball" because that is what it is. It worked perfectly fine, unplugging it and re-plugging it in caused no issues, if on a program like discord I could plug it in, and discord would automatically detect it, and start using it without me having to touch anything. It worked completely fine.

Now, something happened with the micrphone when I plug it into ANY computer, it will be recognized as this http://i.imgur.com/joIoBTc.png The name has been changed to just "Microphone" and it says it is an USB Advanced Audio Device rather then a Blue Microphone. This happens on other computers as well, meaning it is a problem with the microphone. It works fine sometimes, when it is in this "USB Advanced Audio Device" mode. But other times it will not work at all with applications I use it for (mainly discord), or when I am fiddling with the settings of it/unplugging it, it will make ALL USB devices I have plugged in stop working. Almost as if when I unplug the mic, it unplugs everything else as well. The other USB devices start working within 5-10 seconds once it is unplugged, but when I plug it back in the same exact thing will happen.

The mic has been working completely fine for over a year now, then this randomly happens. The mic is supposed to be plug and play, driverless. Regardless of that, I have tried uninstalling the USB advanced audio device drivers, and when it prompts me to restart, I do that, and nothing changes when I look again. Same exact USB Advanced Audio Device that was there before. I have tried downloading the "High Gain" drivers from the blue support site: http://www.bluemic.com/snowball/#/support/ But when in the install process this comes up, http://i.imgur.com/GZTP1em.png meaning that the blue software does not even recognize I have a blue snowball plugged in. I have tried plugging it in to every USB port my mobo has, leaving everything unplugged (except a mouse which I need) to check and see if it works, and still the mouse doesn't function for 5-10 secs when I unplug and replug it.

Any help would be much appreciated, I am usually the tech guy in the family so having something like this happen really frustrates and confuses me, especially when it means I can't use my microphone.

Cheers

From the manufactures FAQ...

MY BLUE USB MIC IS BEING RECOGNIZED AS A GENERIC DEVICE (I.E. "ADVANCED AUDIO DEVICE", "UACJFSFDFSDFF", ETC)

You may be dealing with what we call a “ghost microphone”. We're not entirely sure what causes this to occur, but it’s a malfunction of the digital identification of the mic causing it to be recognized generically. It’s like a mic with no fingerprints. Because of this, your operating system has no way to identify what it’s working with. To correct the problem, you will unfortunately have to contact the USB support team for warranty service by emailing support@bluemic.com.
