Blue taxiway light missing?

Have been doing more dusk and night ops. Don't to much taxiing..
mainly runway to runway. Have realized there were NO blue taxiway
lamps marking the turnoffs in FS8. Not easy to find path in the dark.

Now can one enable taxi lamps?? or ADD using a scenery utility?
Is it because DISPLAY slider is cut back?

ANother quick note: it seems the ground steering has more to do with
yaw damping, MOI's and rudder moments than it does with any nose gear
model. Its another reason/explanation why the plane seems rather
squirrelly when tracking it down the runway! With loose, RW Rec1101
numbers.. and wide steering angle, etc.

Yep one of my pet peeves!

I really get mad went I ask a payware add-on why their aircraft's ground
dynamics seem like taxiing on an ice skating rink... and they reply
"That's the way the real ones taxi".

Yeah... right.

First off.. the threat Subject should read "..taxiway lights missing?"
as in multiple (or all) blue taxi lights. I'd like to see where the
turn-offs are in dark conditions. Will go to `night' and slide DISPLAY
controls.. etc. Are there any blue taxi lamps in FS8?

Have thought of a quick runway tracking test.

1) Make the Yaw damping (Rec1101) coeff 10x it's normal
value.. roll down runway and check steering response.

2) Now make Yaw damping coeff 1/10 it's default value and
aGaiN check handling.

I'll check it out while running Quill's suggestion.

Dally, Dalli, Have you tried pushing the stick forward as you taxi to give
the nosewheel more grip? Might help 🙂

Of course IRL you pull back the stick to take the weight off the delicate
little thing.

that sounds like a good idea.. will be trying it out next opportunity.

with the reduced damping, etc.. it seems best to let go of the stick
while rolling to a stop and not over-correct!

Your best bet would be to "center" the yaw damper, as it has very minimal
effect at taxi speeds.

Remember that you should only be taxiing at a pace slightly faster than a
man can walk (<10kts). Airplanes are not designed to taxi at high speeds,
and if you go to fast you will not be able to control it no matter what you
do.

And please, if you are one of those who jumped right into one of the
"heavies" and tried to learn to fly, go back to the 172 for a while. Learn
to taxi the Cessna and taxiiing the big iron will be a piece of cake...

You can get started on a little scenery designing and add some twy
turnoffs and centerline lights. Also, IIRC I saw some extra bright
lights as an addon to download somewhere.

Na.. the syndrome I refer to is:
Get into overhead view, begin taxiing at 20ish knots and hit full right or
left rudder. The aircraft yaws but continues on the same track.

And its cousin:
Turn the aircraft and then straighten the steering. The aircraft continues
turning and you need to apply opposite rudder to stay on the yellow line. I
understand the Rockwell Commander has hydraulic steering and does act like
this, but most other aircraft don't have ground dynamics like this in real
life.

Disclaimer: I am only talking about a few aircraft, not all.
